If you are not reading this blog and a member of Tollgate Quilters Guild, here is why you should be reading it.
Here is a free book from Fons and Porter on log cabins. All you need to do is download it.
Fons and Porter Log Cabin book
I got this via the Oranje Quilters Guild - so maybe you should be reading that as well.
Hettie Pringle writes on the Oranje Guild Blog spot weekly and always has interesting things to share.

A bit late for the Quilt Festival in Birmingham - but!!!
This is a Nutcracker Christmas Tree Decoration that I bought at the Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market.
Five all in a row!
The Stalls are wonderful all down the middle of the town, only people - no cars. It was freezing today.
German beer and sausages on sale - delicious!
This was too beautiful and the whole market with food and Christmas gifts and decorations was a joy.

Quilters find inspiration in all kinds of places
All of these are paved and tiled paths leading up to front doors in Greenwich. This was the most amazing lime green moss in between the paving stones.
These are all possible quilt designs - just such fun!
Ok, this one had a few tiles missing but you can still see the design.
Just wonderful more and more designs - everywhere I walked.
Even just black and white - how striking!
This one could be pieced and appliquéd.
Look flying geese - down the sides.
I think this might be my last post from the UK as I will be back in South Africa in a few days. I've had a wonderful time here but I'm ready to come home.

Quilting workshop in Dorking, Surrey "White Horse Hotel"
This is the wonderful old Hotel that I spent 2 nights in while doing the Quilt Workshop. This is the remains of the old entrance where Coaches & Horses used to enter, now days it is for cars.
The fireplace in the lounge is also an original feature.
Night light through one of the windows
Charles Dickens probably used the White Horse in his "Pickwick Papers" as Dorking is an old market town.
